Jennie Weeks

Director of Adult Discipleship

Jennie grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina where her father was a Baptist Pastor and her mother was a Middle School English teacher. She was one of four daughters and her two living sisters are Rosanne, who lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and Donna, who lives in Birmingham, Alabama. Jennie earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Furman University in 1978 and a Masters of Art in Christian Education from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1981. While attending seminary, she began working at Christ Church with the youth in December of 1979, and later became Director of Christian Education in 1982.

Jennie’s job title is Director of Adult Discipleship and her ministry concentrates on a variety of ways in which adults can grow in their faith and begin practicing Christian discipleship. Jennie’s responsibilities include coordinating the Adult Sunday School department, Small Group ministry, Bible studies, Wednesday Evening programming and other programming and ministries relating to adults.

Jennie has a son, Michael, who begins his sophomore year at Eastern High School in the fall of 2008. In her spare time, Jennie enjoys reading, bookbinding, playing guitar and piano, creative arts and crafts, and working in her yard.
