Janet Hundley

Administrative Assistant

Janet has been on the Christ Church staff since July of 1997. She began as an Administrative Assistant, lending support in the workroom as well as to the educational staff. Janet assumed the position of Communications Secretary in January of 2000. In May of 2007, she reduced her working hours to part-time and currently is the Administrative Assistant to Rev. Rebecca Heid and Dr. Bonnie MacDonald.

A native of Louisville, Janet grew up in St. Matthews. She transferred her church membership from St. Matthews Episcopal to Christ Church in August, 2003. She graduated from Westport High School and attended Bellarmine and U of L, pursuing classes in sociology, economics, and accounting.

Her accounting abilities remained her career focus beginning in 1970 at the Louisville Jefferson County Revenue Commission and from 1977-1990 at the Logan Co. Since 1975 to present, she has also been the bookkeeper for Thermoflex Inc., a special coatings manufacturing company that she and her husband, Al, own.

Janet and Al married in 1975. They have three grown children and four grandchildren. Janet’s son, Wade Brock, and his wife, Meredith Conroy, have a daughter, Ava, and a cat named Macy. Al has a daughter and a son. Vicki and her husband, Bill Smith, have a daughter named Savannah. Son, Ray, and wife, Cathy, have two sons, Meyer and Clay. They all reside in Louisville.

Janet and Al both love animals and through the years have had cats, dogs, hamsters, and fighting cocks (pets only). They have raised squirrels and birds that had the misfortune of losing their natural mothers. They especially loved their two Jack Russell terriers who ran the Hundley household for some 19 years!

Sailing has been a favorite leisure sport. Janet enjoys working in the yard, tending her plants, and cooking.
