Daniel Light

Music Ministry Associate

Daniel Light grew up in eastern Kentucky, where, at the age of three, he first picked out “Jesus Loves Me” on the piano. Living on the campus of Kentucky Mountain Bible College with his church-musician parents and four musical siblings, he was surrounded by church music most all the time.

Daniel graduated from Asbury College with a degree in piano performance and from the University of Louisville with a master’s degree in piano performance and pedagogy. He has worked as a church musician in Louisville since moving here in 1987, and has been a member at Christ Church since 1989. In addition to his work at Christ Church, Daniel teaches piano in his private studio in the Highlands as well as teaching piano and music theory at Bellarmine University. A self-proclaimed computer nerd, Daniel also runs a small business providing computer support to home and small-business computer users.

As Music Ministry Associate, Daniel assists with various aspects of the music at Christ Church. Duties include providing keyboard accompaniment for worship services, accompanying rehearsals, and working with soloists and instrumental musicians as they prepare music for worship.
