Dr. Bonnie MacDonald

Minister for Outreach and Justice

Bonnie joined the Christ Church staff in 1994. As Minister for Outreach and Justice, she coordinates the missions, outreach and justice ministries of the congregation, provides pastoral care, and assists in worship leadership.

She grew up in northern Indiana, daughter of UM pastor (father) and teacher (mother), and the youngest of five children. After graduating from DePauw University, she moved to east Tennessee to work with the Appalachia Service Project for several years before coming to Louisville to attend Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, where she earned her Master of Divinity degree in 1992. Bonnie was consecrated diaconal minister in 1993 and ordained deacon in full connection in the United Methodist Church in 1997. Bonnie completed her Doctor of Ministry degree in May, 2007.

Bonnie lives in Goshen with her three boys; Kyle who is the oldest and Patrick and Alex who are twins. All three boys are active in church youth activities at CCUM.

Her hobbies include reading, gardening, taking pictures, and music.
