Self-Nominations
Each year, the Committee on Lay Leadership meets to
evaluate the need for leadership in our congregation and endeavors
to discern who God is calling to fulfill those roles. Our concern,
as a committee, is that someone who may feel a call on their life to
serve in this capacity may not be brought to our attention for the
process of nomination. Therefore, we are enacting a Self-Nomination
process for all members of our congregation.
The Self-Nomination packet includes a series of
Bible study, reflection, prayer, journaling, application and
covenant to help discern if someone is prepared to fulfill a role on
the Church Council. The completed application and covenant will be
presented to the Committee on Lay Leadership for consideration of
nomination in September.
If you, or someone you know, is feeling the call of
God in your life to serve in the capacity of Church Council member,
please pick up a packet or contact our Lay Ministry Coordinator,
Patty Groot. The Self-Nomination packets are available from the
receptionist on the 3rd floor and in the Service Opportunities
display at the rear entrance to the Sanctuary, or by clicking the
