Types of MembershipYou can become a member of our congregation by one of two methods: Membership VowsAt Christ Church, we take the vows of membership seriously — "to support the church with our prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness." We want our new members to be ready to live into the membership vows, so we strongly encourage them to participate in our six-week series of classes entitled "Membership Matters." These classes are held several times each year on Sunday mornings in the Church Parlor from 10:10 to 11:00 am. Make sure to watch Reflections and Sunday to Sunday for dates! The name of this class has a dual meaning. First of all, membership in a church does matter and during these four sessions we explore both the value and responsibility of belonging to a church. Secondly, there are matters of membership that are important for us to embrace as faithful members of a Christian congregation. Sessions include the following: An introductory meeting with Dr. George Strunk, Senior Pastor; a session on the structure and theology of the United Methodist Church; a session on what it means to live out our mission statement and a session on the vows of church membership. For additional information about the Membership Matters Class, contact Jennie Weeks, Director of Adult Discipleship at 893-2201 x234 or e-mail her. Whom to ContactContact any of our pastors or Leigh Ray, the Senior Pastor’s Administrative Assistant at 893-2201 x222. Fill in the membership form below; once it's completed, click submit.
